ARTSFEST is an annual event hosted by ART 94124. The goal of the event, to be held June 6 this year, is three-fold: (1) to bring the growing circle of ART 94124 artists, supporters, and Bayview-Hunters Point community residents together to celebrate art, (2) to formally commemorate the 1-year anniversary of ART 94124 and the ART 94124 GALLERY, and (3) to continue to promote ART 94124 as a catalyst for future art exhibits, community projects, and art-related events.

The “main event” of last year’s ARTSFEST was the opening of the art gallery and a celebration of our inaugural exhibit. The adjacent street (Fairfax) was closed off as a temporary community gathering space and along the sidewalk arts and crafts vendors sold their goods, hotdogs and vegetables were grilled and given away, and a series of bands played throughout the afternoon. There were activities for children, including a silk-screening station, chalk art, and a temporary mural installation project.
